Healthy Cinnamon Raisin Baked Apples
Fruit is nature’s dessert—no extra sugar needed in a baked apple recipe. The cinnamon and raisins add just the right amount of flavor and natural ...sweetness, making this a perfectly healthy treat.
Prep: 10 minutes
Bake: 55 minutes
Makes: 6 Baked Apples
Ingredients:
• 1/2 cup apple cider
• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
• 1/8 teaspoon salt
• ½ cup golden raisins
• 6 NYS Apples, cored (see below)
• 6 whole cloves
• Optional toppings: Toasted pecans and maple syrup
Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
2. In a bowl, combine apple cider, cinnamon, salt and cloves.
3. Using a melon scooper, hollow out the center of the apples removing core. Careful not to go all the way to the bottom.
4. Place cored apples in a deep oven proof dish. Pour apple cider mixture over the top of each apple, fill hole with raisins, bake for about 50 minutes.
5. Additional toppings if desired: Toasted pecans and maple syrup.
