First crab soup in space 2001. Shortly after the civil war, Thomas Gordon established Gordon's Rose House in the port town of Baltimore, Maryland. The restaurant relied on the bounty of the Chesapeake region, featuring all types of seafood, as well as cutlets and chops. Forty cents purchased a full course meal that included everything from soup to nuts. The soup was always fresh and homemade, brimming with the freshest of locally frown vegetables and abundant in delicacies from the Chesapeake Bay! More than a century later, the Gordon family continues the tradition with Chesapeake Classics soups, sauces and specialties prepared just off the banks of the Chesapeake Bay.
